Mr. Lowe began his legal career in Birmingham, Alabama working for an insurance defense firm. In 1971, he moved to Haleyville, Alabama where he and Mr. Joe James started the firm James & Lowe. Mr. Lowe continued in his insurance defense practice but also expanded the areas of practice of the firm. For many years, Mr. Lowe maintained an active civil trial practice representing both plaintiffs and defendants in numerous different types of cases.

Today, Mr. Lowe contributes to the firm’s civil practice by serving as a mentor and advisor to the other members of the firm and assists them in the preparation of their cases for trial.
In addition to his successful civil trial practice, Mr. Lowe also became intimately involved in the area of industrial development and corporate law. Mr. Lowe was instrumental in the growth and expansion of local industries in Winston and Marion counties through his representation of local companies, industrial development boards, boards of education, and other municipal and corporate entities. Through his efforts, Mr. Lowe was able to assist the entities grow and expand providing jobs for the local economies in Marion and Winston counties.
In 1984, Mr. Lowe began to serve as General Counsel for Cavalier Homes, Inc., a public company listed on the American Stock Exchange, and continued in that role until September, 2009. As General Counsel for Cavalier, Mr. Lowe managed the defense of lawsuits all over the country, and provided legal advice on a daily basis to the managers of the company regarding employment issues, contractual issues, industrial development issues and other general legal matters. Mr. Lowe’s representation of Cavalier also led to the representation of many other manufactured home companies and suppliers. As a result, Mr. Lowe became known by his colleagues as one of the most trusted and respected attorneys in the manufactured housing industry. Because of the firms experience and expertise in these areas, many manufactured home companies and suppliers continue to seek representation from the firm.
